More than Neymar: Chelsea tell Real Madrid how much Eden Hazard costs

It seems clear that Eden Hazard’s comments at the 2018 World Cup last weekend about his Chelsea future aren’t going away. After Belgium beat England to be the third best team in Russia, Hazard opened up about Chelsea. When asked about his ongoing future with the Blues, Hazard announced that he’s considering his next move. That immediately gave fresh life to the Hazard to Real Madrid rumours. On Monday in the Times, it’s reveal how much Real Madrid need to cough up to sign Hazard. Last summer PSG broke the world transfer record landing Neymar from Barcelona. Chelsea are demanding that Real Madrid pay more than what Neymar cost if they want Hazard. The Times report: Chelsea will demand a world-record transfer fee of more than £200 million from Real Madrid to sanction the sale of Eden Hazard. Chelsea are prepared to sell Hazard, but only if they receive an offer in excess of the £199 million that Paris Saint-Germain paid Barcelona for Neymar 12 months ago. Can Real Madrid afford to pay such a transfer fee? Thibaut Courtois leaving Chelsea too? Thibaut Courtois has also put himself in the shop window this weekend. And, perhaps more importantly, Courtois seems to have attached his future to Hazard. After the England game, Courtois said that he and Hazard will stay together. Does that mean they’ll both leave Chelsea to join Real Madrid. The Times note that Courtois is unhappy at Chelsea, believing “he deserves a better contract than the £200,000-a-week deal that he was offered in December.”
