Roma 3-0 Barcelona: Jurgen Klopp’s reaction to Barcelona loss, Roma president swims in fountain

JURGEN Klopp has delivered a very relatable reaction to Barcelona’s Champions League exit at the hands of Roma, meanwhile the Serie A club’s president has celebrated with a quick dip in a fountain! Its Champions League Extra Time!

Liverpool had pulled off their own Champions League quarter final upset victory, but it had nothing on what was playing out in Rome. AS Roma’s stunning 3-0 victory over Barcelona at the Stadio Olimpico erased a three-goal first leg deficit to dump the Catalans out of the tournament on away goals. Upon learning of the news, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp delivered a similar response to most football fans. “I walked up the stairs and someone told me. I thought it was a joke,” Klopp said. “Not that I don’t respect Roma, they are fantastic team. I just wasn’t expecting it, but knew it was possible. “They lost Mo Salah and they are in the semis - it’s a big thing!” Salah has enjoyed one of the great debut seasons since arriving on Merseyside from Roma – netting 39 times in 44 appearances and guiding his side to their own Champions League semi-final berth in the process. The 36.9m transfer fee the Reds paid for his services is looking more and more like a bargain, but it appears Roma are doing just fine without him.

The party has kicked off in Rome after AS Roma knocked Barcelona out of the Champions League and secured a semi-final berth. The excitement hit a fever pitch at fulltime as the club’s official account tweeted a string of random letters and exclamation marks in an attempt to put on paper just how they were feeling. Meanwhile, the club’s president James Pallotta kicked off the celebrations by diving into a local fountain to the cheers of supporters!
