Predicted 4-2-3-1 Manchester United XI to face Manchester City In Premier League:Mourinho to make certain changes

Predicted Manchester United Line-up To Face Manchester City In The Premier League

Manchester United will be turning up to spoil Man City’s party on Saturday. A win for the Red Devils would delay Man City’s title victory and also dent their confidence ahead of a daunting second-leg quarterfinal clash against Liverpool in the Champions League. Manchester United come into this fixture after six back-to-back wins in the league, including massive victories against Liverpool and Chelsea. But unfortunately, it doesn’t look like it’ll be enough to take the league title away from Man City.

Probable Manchester United XI

Manager:

Jose Mourinho

Formation:

4-2-3-1

David De Gea (GK)

The 27-year-old is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and is capable of single-handedly making sure that Man United don’t lose games. He has been in fantastic form all season and leads the league’s clean sheets chart.

Ashley Young (LB)

Young has been resurgent this season in the left-back position. It was hard to see where he’d fit into Jose Mourinho’s team but Young has made this position his own.

Chris Smalling (CB)

Smalling has been a consistent pick for Jose and apart from his theatrics against Newcastle, he has looked solid in that position. The 28-year-old is coming into his peak years and seems to be improving with time.

Victor Lindelof (CB)

The 23-year-old has come in from Benfica and seems to have grown game-by-game this season. He is turning into a quality centre-back and is forming a good partnership with Chris Smalling in the middle of the defence.

Antonio Valencia (RB)

Jose Mourinho seems to prefer experienced full-backs. Valencia has repaid him by being strong in defence and also by providing an attacking outlet down right-hand side.

Paul Pogba (CM)

On his day, Pogba can pretty much win a game for Man Utd but unfortunately, he has not been able to do so this season. But for all the criticism and strange injuries, he has still provided 3 goals and 9 assists, making him one of the most creative players in the United team.

Nemanja Matic (CM)

Matic has been an absolute revelation for Man Utd this season. He is the engine room for United, breaking up the play, setting up counter-attacks and also popping up with an incredible goal every now and then.

Jesse Lingard (CAM)

Lingard has had a breakthrough season this year. After a pretty slow start, he has shown his worth to the Man United team by chipping in with 8 goals and 4 assists. Most importantly, he really seems to be fitting into the team well, synergising with the other Man United attackers.

Marcus Rashford (RW)

Rashford has had an excellent season for Man United and he offers something different, in the form of pace and power. He has 6 goals and 5 assists in 14 appearances and it is surprising that Mourinho hasn’t played him more. Would threaten the Man City back line.

Alexis Sanchez (LW)

Sanchez had the first good game of his Man Utd career against Swansea and Mourinho will be hoping that he takes that confidence into the game vs Man City. He brings creativity and intelligence to the team, on the left-wing.

Romelu Lukaku (ST)

Romelu Lukaku has been much maligned this season, however, his record in the league is actually pretty good. He has 15 goals and 7 assists in the league and you could argue that a striker at a top club should be getting a few more than that. However, the fact that he has provided this tally means that he is playing for the team and not himself. He is a handful for any defence and will be hoping to bag a goal on Saturday.
