Champions League:Liverpool star Mohamed Salah received Champions League texts from Roma’s Edin Dzeko

The Egyptian is enjoying a sensational debut season with the Reds having netted 40 goals in all competitions with games to spare. Two of those games involve a semi-final clash against former club Roma in the Champions League with the first leg taking place on Tuesday at Anfield. Salah spent two seasons with the Serie A club playing alongside Dzeko. The ex-Manchester City man has fond memories of Salah but following the draw, he admits to sending his former team-mate a message asking him to take a break from his goalscoring feats when they meet on Tuesday. Speaking to BBC Sport, Dzeko said: “I just told him we are going to see each other in the semis and that I wish him to score to break the Premier League record but, in the semis, he can rest a little bit.” He added: “It’s such a shame that he left [Roma]. “I talked with him about his past when he was playing at Chelsea, obviously he was much younger and you know the Premier League is not the easiest league in the world. “I think Italy did will for him because he played like three years here, he scored a lot of goals and he learned a lot here.”
