Arsenal 4-1 CSKA Moscow:Ozil sends message to fans on Twitter after Arsenal outstanding display

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil enjoyed a fine night as the Gunners beat CSKA Moscow 4-1. The Gunners have a healthy advantage heading into the second leg in Russia and will fancy their chances of reaching the semi-finals. Aaron Ramsey and Alexandre Lacazette both scored twice in the victory, with Mesut Ozil the key. Ozil won a penalty for the Gunners when he was brought down in the box, and provided two further assists. He is claiming three of them, as he made clear on Twitter after the game. Ozil is Arsenal's highest paid player after he signed a big contract earlier this year, and the team have needed him to step up. When Ozil ticks, so do Arsenal.

Decent European night in North London 😉👍🏼 Feeling really happy I could help my team with a hattrick of assists ⚽⚽⚽ @Arsenal

The German international was blasted by pundits after the club's Carabao Cup final loss to Manchester City, but he could yet have the last laugh.
Arsenal are closing in on the Europa League trophy, which would give them entry to next season's Champions League.
