Arsenal Team News Update: Wenger Receives Another Major Defensive Boost

Arsenal received more good news on the injury front heading into the AC Milan clash after it was revealed that Shkodran Mustafi will be available for Thursday’s Europa League last-16 second-leg clash with AC Milan. The Germany international was a doubt after limping out of Sunday’s win over Watford with a groin problem but is fit enough to keep his place in the squad. The latest development following fellow defender Hector Bellerin (knee) and Nacho Monreal (back) returning from injury, both full-backs are likely to play. Alexandre Lacazette has returned to training but will not recover in time, Santi Cazorla meanwhile is sidelined. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is cup-tied so Danny Welbeck is almost certain to start up front.
David Ospina expected to continue in goal in this competition. Playmaker of Turkish origin Mesut Ozil is almost certain to start after providing three assists in his last two games in including two against AC Milan in the first leg. Ozil will be up against fellow Germany born ethnic Turk Hakan Calhanoglu who is expected to start for the visitors. Arsenal need to avoid defeat by more than one goal to guarantee safe passage to the quarter-finals.
