Champions League:Cristiano Ronaldo sends warning to PSG and Neymar after first leg win

Cristiano Ronaldo

CRISTIANO RONALDO insists Real Madrid will not be defensive in the second leg of their
Champions League last-16 tie against Paris Saint-Germain.

Ronaldo scored twice with Marcelo grabbing the other as Real came from 1-0 down to beat PSG 3-1 last night. It puts them in the ascendency heading into the second leg in three weeks’ time but the Ligue 1 side’s away goal gives them a glimmer of hopes.

The Champions League remains Real’s only real chance of silverware this season having been knocked out of the Copa del Rey and falling 17 points behind Barcelona in the Spanish top flight. PSG boss Unai Emery meanwhile is under increasing pressure to deliver in Europe’s elite competition and could potentially lose his job should they not progress. That is likely to mean PSG will throw everything at their opponents when they host Real next month. But Ronaldo insists Real will not just sit back and try to withstand the pressure. "The fans have helped us a lot and we felt their warmth. It has to be that way," Ronaldo said. "Marcelo's goal was very important, he played a good match and he deserved it. "When goals are scored and your team wins, it is always special. Today it started and I scored two. "The tie is not over yet. We have to go to Paris to win and to score goals, to be calm and to qualify for the next phase."
